Diego Anaya

Originally from Mexico, Diego Anaya began his artistic training in Monterrey in the studio of master artist Guillermo Canseco, and since then he has developed a career that spans painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, and performance. His work is characterized by constant experimentation with materials such as fabric, fire, metal, wood, and charcoal, which he uses as vehicles to explore the ephemeral, the destructive, and the transformative in the creative process. Anaya understands art as an expanded field where matter becomes expressive energy, and where color functions as the unifying axis of a deeply gestural and symbolic work. He has participated in exhibitions in Mexico, the United States, and Europe, presenting pieces that oscillate between the forcefulness of the material and the fragility of the poetic. His practice proposes a synthesis of disciplines and sensibilities, generating visual and performative experiences that transcend the limits of each medium and seek to directly engage the viewer.
