Magda Manotas

Colombian artist Madga Manotas explains that Art has always been a big part of her life. Her mother, also an artist, played an important role in helping her develop not only love for the Arts, but also devotion for creativity and innovation. After graduating high school she attended the Miami Art Institute where she studied Fine Art.
In 2012 she moved to New York where she continued her studies at Parsons. Her first collection was highly influenced by the pop culture. Manotas’ first solo exhibition was in a studio in the meatpacking district. Hundreds of people attended the show covered by whitewall Magazine, the art director of Interview Magazine, as well as important art collectors and renowned figures in the Art world. Most of her work was sold. Her “Reflections” collection debuted at Miami Art basel in 2015 where her entire collection sold out. Manotas’ works have been exhibited in Art Basel Miami, Frieze New York, X-Contemporary Art Fair and Barcú in Bogotá, Colombia. The latest works of this artist are heavily influenced by reflection and self discovery. Manotas aims to realize Art that seeks to pose questions that scientist; artists and philosophers have been contemplating since the dawn of man. Questions not easily explained or answered; answers that continuously change in theory and understanding. Intrigued by the Art of Chroming observed in a motorcycle shop, Manotas is conquering the Art world with an exotic twist of mechanical innovation that basic chemistry allows. Having spent time experimenting with canvases inside of this mechanic shop, Magda has found a new pinnacle in her career as an artist by developing an intricate technique that allows her to express her true style which aims to evoke a transcendental and reflective state of mind.
